NCC/Scout & Guides
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Scouts and Guides are both organizations that work with young people, and both aim to develop leadership skills and social awareness. However, they have some differences:
NCC
A military organization for students in schools and colleges, founded in 1948. The NCC’s motto is “Unity and Discipline” and its objectives are to develop character, discipline, leadership, and a spirit of adventure. The NCC aims to bring together young people from different parts of the country and mold them into disciplined citizens.
Scouts and Guides
A non-military organization that focuses on the overall development of young people, introduced in India in 1909. The Scouts and Guides’ motto is “Be Prepared” and its activities are intended to help young people develop physically, mentally, socially, spiritually, and emotionally. The Scouts and Guides is open to all young people without distinction of origin, race, or creed.
